1. Scrapping like a mad women these days, working on Scrapbooking A-Z projects. The contest kicks off May 4th and should be lots of fun.
2. Getting ready for National Scrapbook Day on Saturday. I'll be posting a couple challenges on the Galblog. There will be a RAK involved, so you'll want to check it out! I have to work half the day and I'll need to pack, so I'm not sure how much scrapping I'll actually do. Luckily, I've gotten a head start on the SC NSD Challenges.
3. Gearing up for posting lots of pages when the Scrap for a Cure and Scrapgal May galleries go live on Friday. Here's a little sneaky of SFAC's May kit.
4. Starting my to do list and packing list for OR. Just five more days till I get to see some baby dimples!
5. Crossing my fingers that yesterday's headache and today's sore throat don't amount to anything other than allergies.
6. Just got an email from Goodreads telling me I've won another free book! This book will soon be one it's way to me. Last week I received this book and think it's only fitting that I won the book about autism and ADHD. Thanks Goodreads and generous publishers!
7. Am in love with cinnamon bread and homemade peanut butter. Seriously, I could eat this everyday! Yum!
8. Really needing to get some paperwork done and clear off some piles around my desk, but really wanting to be creative instead! Bad kid I know!
9. Looking for some cute capri pants that fit a smallish, wide hipped, small waisted girl that won't cost a fortune and will hold up to days upon days of sittting on the floor with kiddos. Got any ideas?
10. In need of anniversary gift ideas for Shawn. I have no clue what to get him. He's apparently got something up his sleeve for me, as I was told to quit bothering him yesterday because he was busy working on an anniversary gift. It may have just been a ploy to get me to stop yappin at him.
Happy Tuesday!

Today was a really good day. I spent the morning scrapbooking and created 3 pages. The first two I can't share yet. Here's the second one, for another round robin at Scrapgal.
After a morning of scrapping, Shawn and I had a date. We went to see The Soloist. It was an excellent movie. I'd highly recommend it. I love that it is based on a true story. I heard the real Steve Lopez (the newspaper columnist) interviewed and it was really interesting. The movie stirred up my love for cello music and I currently have a Beethoven symphony in my head.
After the movie, we headed to North for dinner. We'd never been there before, but had a gift card from my sister. It was delicious! The food was excellent and the service was great. We had a nice little table on the patio and enjoyed the beautiful evening weather. Thanks Kellie!
Looking forward to another day off tomorrow...well, mostly, I'm doing one session in the morning). I've got breakfast plans with Michelle...hello lemon pancakes....grocery shopping to do, a little cleaning and hopefully more crafting.
Speaking of crafting, here's another sneak peek from the May Scrap for a Cure kit.

I've been at a loss for blog topics as of late. Life seems to be pretty status quo lately...work, cook, eat, craft, internet land, clean, knit, sleep (or try to anyway) repeat. Nothing new to report. I haven't been feeling very chatty or very witty lately either. Among my blog roll are lots of witty bloggers and good writers. I can be witty. I'm a good writer. But lately, I'm just not feeling it. I also haven't taken many pictures lately or crossed many things off of my to do list.
I have, however, been scrapping a lot. Unfortunately, I can't really share anything right now. I've been working on pages for the May contest at Scrapgal which will begin May 4th and run through the end of the month. I've also been playing with my May Scrap for a Cure kit. Another wonderful kit full of fun papers and embellies. We've started our May blog hop for sneaks. Here's my first sneak. Stay tuned for more over the next few days.
I'm thinking I should go scrap now, but me and my glass of wine are firmly planted with the laptop and some mindless tv. It's probably not going to happen. I'm hoping to get some scrapping done this weekend, among the cleaning, grocery shopping and date with Shawn. Hoping I can convince him to go see either Earth or the Soloist. We shall see.....

Today is Earth Day. Unfortuntately, because is an average middle of the week workday for me, I won't be doing anything special to mark the occasion. I was considering an after work trip to the Downtown Phoenix Farmer's Market, but since it's supposed to be 100 degrees today, I'm not so sure I'm ready for an outing in the heat. I would love to see the Earth movie to, but that will have to wait till the weekend I think.
If you know me, you know I'm somewhat of a granola-y, tree hugger. I'm pretty "green" on a daily basis, with the exception of my constant driving, which is part of my job. Here are some of the "green" things I already do:
obsessive recycling (including a recycle basket in my scrap room and a bag in my car)
natural cleaning products
natural, paraben and other chemical free, usually organic bath and beauty products
organic produce
no plastic bags...I carry bags everywhere
herb garden
Things I would like to be better at:
limiting plastics---slowly removing and replacing most of my kitchen plastics
buying local
start a vegetable garden
lower water and energy use
What do you do that's "green"? How will you mark Earth day?

Just letting you know if you see crazy things on my blog over the next few days, it's because I am making some blog changes. I'm playing around with templates, layouts and content. Not sure I like what I've got right now, so more changes might occur. Still adding to my sidebars and deciding what content I want to post....stay tuned!

I am looking forward to this weekend. I have NO plans! After work on Saturday, I plan on hibernating at home. I do not plan to leave the house from 3pm Saturday to 9am Monday morning. Originally, I was not planning on leaving the house until Tuesday morning, but I could not pass up an invitation to scrap at Dina's with the girls on Monday.
Now, don't confuse no plans with nothing to do. I have SO much on my to do list, it's a little ridiculous. I plan on taking the weekend slow though and know I will not get to everything. Here's a few things I want to do:
knit
scrap
read
watch movies
stay in my pj's
and a few things I ought to do:
clean
laundry
paperwork
purge
organize
upload photos
edited photos
print photos
update blog layout and header
We shall see what I actually manage to accomplish....as long as I do the laundry and clean the bathroom, will call the weekend a success!

Today we headed to the Desert Botanical Gardens with Shawn's mom and brother, to check out the Chihuly exhibit. It was pretty spectacular. Lots of cool pieces scattered amongst the gardens. Now is the perfect time to be at the gardens too, with all the spring dessert blooms. It was beautiful! Now to go back during the evening hours to see the pieces in that special evening light, with the sunset and all lit up once the sun goes down. You have to get reservations for the exhibit, as it's pretty popular. You can get either 12-4pm or 4-8pm reservations. Unfortunately, a lot of the evening ones are sold out and I'm sure many of the pieces look completely different in different lighting and once they are all lit up. I took well over a hundred pictures today. Here are a few of them:
We decided not to do the butterfly pavilion, as it was pretty crowded today and we would have had to wait in a long line to get in. I'm hoping I can get back to see that before it leaves.
I spent the rest of my Sunday, enjoying a late lunch outside and than taking an extremely rare late afternoon nap. It was a lovely day!

It's 8:30pm and I am barely keeping my eyes open. Seems I haven't been sleeping well for the past few nights. Can somebody tell me why it is I wake up at 4am? Than again at 6am...ugh. Sleepy Erin (and decaffienated Erin) is not good on a Wednesday, my day of crazy, energetic kids. In fact, one of my darlings today, who was quite excited to see me I must add, literally kicked me out of his house this afternoon. He took my hand, pulled me to the front door, opened the door, shoved me out the door and slammed the door in my face! Nice right? Especially given all my stuff was still inside his house. To be fair to me, he wanted to join his brother in watching Monster's Inc. and figured the best way this was going to happened would be to get rid of me quickly. Smart, I'll give him that...
Have you seen today's Pagemaps newsletter? The girls at Scrapgal are featured with the April sketches. Here's mine:
Such a fun sketch to play with. In fact, many of this month's sketches are great. I'm probably going to do several of them. You should play along too...Chez is offering a RAK for those who complete Pagemaps April sketches this month...check it out here. You should also check out the Pagemaps blog, as Becky is giving some great MME products away this month.
Scrapgal's April DT gallery went up today. Here are my pages:
I've been scrapping some of my childhood photos lately and having a lot of fun playing with them and telling stories from my youth.
Ok my friends {Yawn} it's time to climb in bed with a book I think. Have a good night!
