Music 10

Came home early today not feeling well and promptly climbed in bed with the laptop. After my usual surfing, I hopped on to itunes and amazon music looking for a few new songs to download. Found a few good free tunes on amazon and checked out genius recommendations and imix's on itunes looking for some new stuff.

So, since it's Tuesday, here are 10 downloads from today. Eclectic as usual.

1. Fireflies--Owl City (this is the free song on itunes this week)
2. Frank's Tavern--Calexico (free on amazon)
3. If You Leave--Orchestral Manoevers in the Dark (a classic I can't believe I don't already have on my ipod)
4. Don't Mess with Me--Big Pete Pearson (a local blues artist--another free amazon download)
5. Perla de la Medina--Javier Ruibal (a little flamenco music--free on amazon)
6. All of Me--Billy Holiday (free on amazon)
7. It Don't Matter--Donavon Frankenreiter
8. Rainbow--G. Love featuring Jack Johnson
9. The Guy That Says Goodbye to You is Out of His Mind--Griffin House (officially the longest song title ever)
10. Have It All--Jeremy Kay

Got any songs or artists I should check out?

Sunday Adventures

Yesterday was a fun day. I spent the morning putzing around my house, checking in online, doing laundry and a little scrapping. In the afternoon, Kellie and I had a little photo shoot. She needs some pilates/yoga pictures of herself for work, so we spent about an hour and a half shooting about 300 pictures. She must be sore today, because she did a ton of teasers and splits for the shots.

After we were finished, we headed back to her house to get dressed and wait for mom to arrive for dinner and Wicked. We ate a yummy dinner at Los Sombreros, including my 2nd mojito of the weekend, and headed to the show. Wicked was amazing. I loved it. Totally different from the book, but really entertaining. The cast was wonderful. I think it's now among my favorite musicals ever. I would highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance. After the show was over, we raced to the Gelato Spot, arriving just before they closed, for a little late night treat. It was a really great day.

Still weeding through all the pictures I took of Kellie. She's going to have to go through them and critique. I know she'll be super critical about her form and the lines of her body. Here are a few of my favorites:

07-08-09

Where was I at 10:11:12? Just leaving Central Music (where I purchased some piano books) and heading off to my next client. I took a quick series of photos before leaving the parking lot. Not terribly exciting, but hey, it's my typical day...from client to client to client I go....

I'm loving the sunglass image of how I'm taking the shot:

Just for fun. Enjoying some Orbit Citrus Mint gum:

Planning on scrapping these photos just for fun this weekend. Thinking another series will be in order on 09-09-09 at 9:09. What do you think?

10 Again

The Tuesday 10 is back:

1. Split a chocolate milkshake with Shawn at lunch today. Yum!

2. Love this idea. Will try to play along tomorrow, though I'm going to be driving at 10:11 am and that doesn't make for the most exciting pictures.

3. Can't wait for this movie. The pictures are so incredible!

4. Scrapping after work tomorrow with this girlie.

5. A little obsessed these days with Bejeweled on Facebook. Not really helping the "get it done" quest.

6. Looking forward to enjoying my mom's Mother's Day gift with mom and Kellie on Sunday.

7. I've been on a bit of a reading kick lately, having read 3 books in the past 3 weeks. I'm currently reading this book which I accidently grabbed at Half Price Books instead of the Studio Calico book club selection for this month. It's been on my to read list anyway so I dived in this weekend. I'm about 1/4 the way through and loving it so far.

8. Shopping for patio furniture, which is luckily starting to go on clearance at several places. Most of what I want is still pretty pricey. Trying to decide how much I can/should spend.

9. Enjoying lots of this:

LOVE summer fruit. Yum!

10. Looking for new music to download. Any suggestions? What are you listening to?

Happy Tuesday!

The Get It Done List

Awhile back, I declared this "The Summer of Getting Things Done." I have quite the list of to do's and in progress projects. The idea is to use some of my free time this summer to finish some projects and cross some items off of my list. Luckily, with a lighter work schedule, less to watch on TV and no desire to go out into 110 degree heat, I actually have more time to devout to projects for the next couple months. Now I just need to actually use that extra time to "get things done."

I've decided I should create a master list. Now, there's a pretty good chance I'm not getting all of this done this summer. In fact, I can pretty much guaruntee there will still be plenty of things on this list come September. I will do my best. Here's the list so far:

Taxes 08--only mileage left to do
Get up to date with Taxes 09 spreadsheets--done :)
File/Re-Organize household and business paperwork--in progress
Get up to date with SRG Paperwork
Purge MT bookshelf and supply files
Purge closets and donate--just need to donate
Paint bathroom baseboards
Hang new bathroom hooks
Assemble and hang shelf in blue bathroom
Touch up paint in blue bathroom
Sand and paint hallway
Sand and paint wall outside of kitchen
Patio furniture
Clean up back patio
Deal with boxes from storage
Read and purge magazine stash
Organize magazine tear outs
Organize loose recipes
Back up photos and work files
Print photos once a month--done so far
Week in the Life album--done
Hawaii album--in progress
England album--in progress
Wedding album--in progress
Finish knit tunic--about halfway done
Add a foot or two to knit blanket
Pay it Forward gifts
Use up a couple kits
Attempt a sewing project

I'm sure there's more, but that's quite a list already. There are also things I have on Shawn's list...like tear out carpet, clean and organize piles, get rid of stuff.....hopefully I can help him along with some of those things too. The idea is to get things to a point where we can hopefully do more work on the house in the fall. That's the plan anyway. I've always got big plans....

Wish me luck and stay tuned for updates!

July Galleries

It's July already, can you believe it? Wondering where the year is going. The start of a new month means new scrappy goodies and galleries though. Jenni Bowlin is our manufacturer contest this month at Scrapgal. I just love to play with Jenni Bowlin goodies. Here's my JB page:

I've had this Scenic Route Sonoma line in my stash for a while. I just love the rich colors and the mix and match patterns and prints. Unfortunately, the photo is a bit blurry, but I love how this page turned out.

This month at Scrapgal we're also hosting Christmas in July on the galblog. Starting next week you'll get a month's worth of Christmas inspiration. You'll definitely want to check it out.

The July Scrap for a Cure kit went live today after a few site glitches. I worked with Pineapple Smoothie, this month's mini kit. It's a fun kit with great papers and embellishments to play with. Here's what I created.

Happy July!
